The UGP series of underground pullers from Hydra-Tension are designed so that various diameter wire or synthetic ropes pulling lines can be used. In applications where synthetic rope must be used such as pulling armored cable in steel ducts the change from wire rope to to synthetic is quick and simple. The large diameter twin multi-groove pulling wheels are open on one side to facilitate change of line. The large diameter wheels also produce less bending stress and wear on any size pulling line. Large capacity take up storage reels enable very long pulls to be made if that requirement occurs on a particular job. The jeavy duty hydraulic powered level wind and guide system is not susceptible to damage or timing problems caused by diameter differences or irregularities in the pull line. TheUGP series have models with line pull capabilities exceeding 45,000 lb.
