HBT- 50 and HBT- 54 Hydraulic Bull wheel Tensioner

Hydraulic tensioning produces smooth precise tension through out the operating range of these machines. To tension out conductor the operator simply releases the spring applied - hydraulic released drive line brake and lowers tension control valve to open relief valve motor. As the bull wheels start to rotate pressure immediately rises in the system providing a retarding force. The flow compensated main relief valve maintains same pressure / tension setting through out speed range even as the pulling machine speed is increased or decreased. This results in a constant conductor sag.

Bolted on bull wheel linings are made of extremely durable EPDM type rubber compound. Along with the Nylatron fair lead rollers this provides many years of use without need of service.

Tensioners are available as skids or as integral trailer units. Basic trailers for off road use only are available, as well as trailers that meet all requirements for highway towing.
