2BWPT- 54 Bundle Hydrostatic Bullwheel Puller-Tensioner
Designed to replace existing conductors on 2 bundle transmission lines when using the old conductor as the pulling line.
Two matching machines are used either as the puller or as the tensioner. A leap frog operation is often used requiring less moving and set up of equipment. Four independent hydrostatic power systems on each machine maintain constant tension on the twin bull wheel sets as well as two conductor reel jacks. A macthing dentical machine used on the pulling endpowers two reel jacks that automatically retrieves the old conductor as it exits from the other bull wheel sets. A clutch links the two bullwheel sets to keep conductor bundle synchronized and level. At angle towerw the clutch is temporarily disengaged to allow bundle leveling while negotiating turn.
Standard features and operating characteristics:
Hydrostatic pulling and tensioning on bull wheel sets and external reel jacks.
Synchronizer clutch allows bundle leveling with line moving.
Synchronizer clutch allows 25 % power transfer to one bullwheel set for higher single conductor pull/tension.
Power reeving of conductor.
Ability to pull conductor back to sag tension.
Spring Apply/Hydraulic Release Failsafe brakes on bull wheels and reel jack drives.
Heavy duty hydraulic stabilizers.
